• All shooters must register at the Range desk with a valid ID before entering. IL residents must have a FOID card. Non IL residents must present a drivers' license or state issued ID. 
  • All persons using the range must sign a waiver. The range waiver form must be re-signed annually. 
  • You must be 18 or older to use the range and have a valid FOID card. An adult must accompany anyone under 18.
    • Children 10+ are allowed to use the Range under immediate supervision of an adult after completion of our Junior Shooters Safety Course. 
    • Eagle Sports Range warns against anyone who is or may be pregnant, have a heart condition, history of seizures or any other medical condition hat may affect the safety of themselves or others.
  • We urge our guests who will be observing to remain respectful to those in the shooting range. NO banging/tapping on the glass, counters, chairs, etc. NO talking through the glass or trying to get a shooters attention. These rules are in place to avoid any distractions to our shooters and uphold a safe environment for all members and guests. 
  • NO INTOXICATING SUBSTANCES. Individuals displaying the effects of, or thought to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be prohibited from range use. 
  • ATTIRE: All persons in the range must have close toed shoes. Low cut shirts are not allowed and chest should be covered. Proper attire shall be determined at the discretion of Eagle staff.
  • NO food or drink is permitted beyond the observing area, i.e. in the shooting lanes or in the ready area behind the lanes. We recommend all range users wash hands in cold water on exit from the range.
  • Pictures are acceptable within safe and respectful use to yourself and others. Range Officers reserve the right to ask you to put away your phone/camera if your use of it is deemed to be unsafe, inappropriate or a distraction to others. 

  • ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
  • ALWAYS keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction, i.e. downrange at the backstop. The ceiling and floor are not considered a safe direction. 
  • ALWAYS keep the firearm unloaded in the case, until it it on the bench, muzzle pointed down range.
  • Firearms must remain unloaded and cased until you are in your designated lane. 
  • All guns used on the range must be in safe operating condition and used only with the proper ammunition including hand-loaded ammo. Hand-loaded ammunition is allowed is customer owned firearms only. Factory ammunition only must be used in rental firearms. If you are unsure about the proper ammo for your firearm consult with a Range Officer.
  • AMMO: No tracer rounds or steel core ammunition is allowed. Shotguns must use slug ammunition only. All ammunition in magazines will be inspected.
  • TARGETS: NO TANNERITE OR EXPLODING TARGETS.
  • Only paper targets are allowed to be used on the range. The Range Officers reserve the right to prohibit targets that are deemed to be offensive or unsafe. Use the appropriately sized target that is placed at eye level to ensure that the bullets will enter the bullet trap. Rifle and shotgun shooters must use large silhouette targets.
  • Cross firing of targets and rapid fire are prohibited. 
    • Rapid fire is defined as less than one second between any two shots.
  • In case of misfire please keep your firearm pointed down range and immediately consult with the Range Officer on site. 
  • No quick draw from holster. No kneeling down to shoot. No shooting under booth counters.
  • Wheel chair bound users of the range shall use designated wider lanes that facilitates safe shooting from the seated position.
  • NO ONE IS PERMITTED BEYOND FIRING LANE AT ANY TIME.
  • Eye & Ear protection must be worn by everyone inside the range at all times.
  • The RSO has the right to inspect all firearms and ammunition to be used on the range.
  • Firearms being carried to and from the firing line must be unloaded and carried in a safe manner such as in a gun box or bag.
  • If a Range Officer has to verbally warn a shooter more than two times, the shooter will be asked to cease use of the range until observing a level 1 firearm safety video. A second occurrence of more than two warnings shall result in the prohibition of the shooter from use of the range for at least 30 days.
  • ANY 3 SHOTS fired that strike any surface other than your paper target (i.e. ceiling, floor, target carrier, track, etc.) in any combination, will result in the Range Officer asking you to leave for the day.
  • Any shooter who is non-compliant with Range Officer instructions, argumentative, etc., or who commits a safety violation that places life or limb at risk (shooters or others in the range) is subject to ejection from the range at the discretion of the Range Officer.
  • There is to be NO transfers of uncased firearms from one lane to another. If you want to pass a firearm to another shooter on another lane, it must first be unloaded, cased and transferred to the other lane in case, with muzzle pointed down range.

  • Respect the Range: Please place your trash into the trash receptacles and your spent brass into the recycling receptacles.
  • All safety rules are enforced and must be obeyed for the benefit of all. Violation of any of the rules may result in loss of Range use or termination of membership. If you are unsure about anything, ask the Range Officer.

  • Acceptable calibers/firearms:
    • .22 Caliber rifles and pistols.
    • Centerfire pistols in pistol calibers.
  • No full automatic firearms are allowed.
  • Reloaded Ammunition may be used in customer owned firearms only.
  • Only Factory ammunition is allowed to be used in rental firearms.
  • NO steel core ammunition may be used in the range. Aluminum cased ammunition is allowed.
  • Shooters in a lane may pick up their own brass in their lane but must keep all body parts behind the the plane of the forward edge of the shooting bench in the lane.
  • No more than two guests may share a lane and there can be only one shooter per lane at a time.
  • Only one rental firearm may be in the lane at a time.
  • NO rapid fire is allowed.
    • Rapid fire is defined as less than one second between shots.

  • Acceptable calibers/firearms:
    • .22 Caliber rifles
    • Centerfire rifles up to and including any 30 caliber of any action type.
    • Any handgun is allowed, scoped or iron sights, standing or bench shooting position is allowed. Targets must be fixed at 50 yds.
    • Non-Acceptable calibers/firearms:
      • Rifles of caliber greater than 40 caliber.
      • Any full auto firearm.
    • Rifle shooters may shoot from the bench or standing position. Shooting from prone or sitting position is not allowed.
    • Reloaded ammunition may be used in customer owned firearms only. 
    • Only factory ammunition is allowed to be used in rental firearms.
    • NO steel core ammunition may used in the range.
